This morning we got a call from a friend who stumbled upon a new track to race the RC’s on. He found it while walking back from dropping his car off at the garage. We thought we’d pop down and check it out this afternoon. I took the Traxxas Slash and Mark took the HPI Baja, this allowed us to see how the two different size and type of car coped with the new track (It had nothing to do with the fact that my Baja and MCD Racerunner are in need of some maintenance and Mark’s HPI Blitz’s batteries were flat). link to track

Shot of the track

As this was only a recon visit we had a quick look about and about 25-30 minutes testing the track out. Here are some shots from the session.

Slash in mid flight

Jumping Baja

Broken Baja

The Slash coped well with the track, it is possibly a little too big for the car but only a bit more testing will tell

The Baja was great at the woops, but did manage to break a hub. The hub was in a questionable state before we took to the track so it was nothing that we weren’t expecting.

Can’t wait to hit this track with all the cars and all the usual RC nuttas that we bash with. Keep your eyes on UberRC.com for future bash locations.

After watching Diggnation episode 234 (link) i though i’d try out Gowalla. I like to try out new methods of social networking especially if i can do it on my iPhone. Now i wasn’t really sure the purpose of it and after using it now for a few days i’m still not 100%.

As far as i can tell, it is a great method of keeping track of where your friends are and seeing other people that have been to places that you are going to visit. The program is international as you can add your own places of interest. You ‘check in’ when you arrive at a location and this can then update your twitter feed and facebook status. There is a game element to it in that you earn pins from completing various tasks such as adding 10 new locations and checking in 500 times.

This system seems very similiar to the foursquare system which has been around for a good few months so only time will tell which is the better. I’ve not used the foursquare system yet but in the interest of fairness i will try them both together and see which is the best.

As i couldn’t get onto the multiplayer servers last night i played a few hours of the single player. I’ve played all the COD titles on PC so this is the first one I’ve played on Console. Overall the game seems faster pace and harder than the first, with the usual great quality story and immersive feel. I did manage to get into the servers this morning and tried out team deathmatch and domination modes, the later being my favourite so far. I can’t wait to get home and continue playing this game! A big thumbs up from me.

I’ve been playing this game for nearly a month now on my iPhone and can honestly say that it is great. Even though i upgraded my iPhone 2 weeks ago and had to start again from level 1, i have still enjoyed every minute of the game

The game is a free mmorpg (massively multiplayer online role playing game) and can be played on the iPhone and iPod touch (whilst connected to the internet). You choose 1 of 3 different classes, giving you different strengths for the game. The aim is to complete missions, earn money and increase the size of you Mob. The more people in your mob the more power you have when attacking and defending against other mobs.

I’ve enjoyed the game so much that i decided to do a quick site to help people increase they’re mob’s size. There are already a few sites out there that provide the same service but i thought that 1 more couldn’t hurt.

If you are looking to increase your mob size then you need to enter another players code, this will then give you the option to add them into your mob and help you with the fight. This is where my site comes in, people submit ther codes to the site and other people can then input them into the program and increase their mob easier than randomly finding people. The site can be found at http://imob.cwenterprises.co.uk

My iMob code is 152-760-978, feel free to add me and post your codes on the site, i will get round to adding all of them at some point.
